Coaches vs. 7/8 Travel TeamsCoaches Win
Congratulations to everyone on a great fun day! Although the coaches didn't come out ahead on the score board in either game they won a major moral victory. Not one single coach needed emergency medical treatment, however most were moving a little slowly after the game.
The boys' coaches folded down the stretch, including multiple turnovers and creatively called technical fouls, allowing the boys to reduce a 15 point deficit in an unbelievable fashion and win the game. The "refs" in this game seemed to be using a set of obscure upper Mongolian rules, which the travel team really capitalized on in the end when they put their whole team in the game. The girls' coaches folded in a similar fashion. With an 8 point lead in the final minute the coaches lack of understanding of the upper mongolian rules the "refs" were using really hurt them. A slew of technical fouls and an assortment of violations that could never be imaginatively described, unless you're from upper Mongolia, allowed the girls to miraculously win the game at the foul line with just a couple of seconds to go. We'd like to thank all of you for participating and making this such an enjoyable afternoon. Especially Jan Ward, Tom Fielding, and anyone else involved with putting together this great event. Coaches should keep their shirts for next year as well as a few extra ice packs. Finally we'd like to extend a big thank you to the "refs" for a job well done they definitely added a lot to the character of the game. Hopefully they, and their unique set of rules, can come back next year ..... the coaches will be waiting for them!! Coaches vs. 7/8 Travel TeamsProposed date: Saturday, March 29Times:Boys v.
